Over the Autumn term Yellow class have been very productive! In Maths we have been learning about number, place value and the properties of 2D shapes & 3D shapes and exploring the shapes around us in school. In English we have explored a range of ‘Everyday Challenges’ and have developed our comprehension skills, our confidence and use of Clicker 7 and have also added to our repertoire of Makaton Signs.
In PSHE we have developed our understanding of ‘General Hygiene’ and have learnt the importance of good hygiene when we are feeling unwell and have improved our hygiene routines after swimming and PE lessons.
During our Independence lessons we have been developing our understanding of travelling safely on Public Transport and were able to practice these skills during our trips to Central London for our ‘Open-Top Bus Tour of London’ and on our trip to the ‘Variety Big Top Christmas Extravaganza’.
In Science with Ricardo, we have been looking at ‘Animals including Humans’ and have also been developing our understanding of the ‘Human Body’. In Computing, we have been developing our understanding of combining texts with images and have continued to explore e-safety with Helen.
We also had our class assembly on the topic of Sikhism and everyone was brilliant with their enthusiasm and the class produced a very informative video on Sikhism which has been a very good learning aid for this topic. We also had the ‘Oaktree Christmas Show’ and performed ‘Just as Long as We Have Christmas’ from ‘Beauty and the Beast; The Enchanted Christmas’ and they executed their performance with confidence and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well done Yellow Class!
