Bear Hunt

The School Council have been busy this term, organising another sponsored walk to raise money for some a whole school project, we also wanted to promote the importance of doing exercise to keep fit and that it can be fun.

This time we decided to have a theme, and the theme was "We're going on a bear hunt" We wanted the students to choose the project and they could choose from:

A trip to a pantomime

A visiting entertainer

New water play resources

We marked out an area of the school field.  We had long grass, got soaked in the river, squelched through real mud and sprayed with snow (foam) and a cave with a bear inside.  We invited parents along to take part with the students and were delighted to see some of you took up the challenge!! As each student and Adult completed a lap they had to vote for the project they wanted by placing a plastic counter in a bucket for the project they wanted.

The weather on the day was glorious, the sun was shining.

The students all arrived at school in their PE kits ready to take part.  Ricardo our Physio led the warm up to get our muscles stretched and everyone joined in.  During the walk the students were joined by Parents and Oaktree staff, along with some music.

Everyone managed to complete 10 laps of the school field.  All the students received a certificate and a well-earned Ice lolly at the end.  The winning project was new water play equipment.

 The sponsored walk raised £705.00
