Yuletide felicitations!

It has been a remarkably busy term in the Food Technology department and looking back it is heartening to see the breadth and depth of the curriculum that has been presented to the students of Oaktree since the beginning of the academic year.

As always the emphasis right throughout the school has been on Health & Safety and this is something that is reinforced right across the board in every lesson.

The senior students have done very well and they are now well versed in preparing their meals on the mornings that they spend in the HE room.

The meals that have been created by the students have been an exciting blend of vegetarian & non-vegetarian plates and have included:

  1. Vegetarian Chilli
  2. Sausage Carbonara
  3. Homemade Pizzas
  4. Pissaladiere
  5. Babotie
  6. Mac & Cheese
  7. Risotto
  8. Stir fry
  9. Fajitas
  10. Roasted Vegetables with Orzo
  11. Quiche
  12. Farm-style Vegetable Soup

Junior students have been looking at basic cooking skills and they have tried their hand at baking – both sweet & savoury dishes – as well as looking at how to operate kitchen utensils safely.
