Independence Homework Week 1

Independence Lessons for Orange Class for w.c.1.6.20

For this lesson, we will be thinking about one particular area to help develop your child’s self-care skills: ‘Independent Living’.  All children are different and develop at different stages and will acquire self-care skills at their own pace.  This lesson will focus on making laundry seem like a fun with two activities that will involve: a sorting activity sorting laundry into two groups (‘lights & ‘darks’) and a socks matching activity with accompanying video links demonstrating how to match & fold socks.  There is also a PDF file of the flashcards mentioned in the lesson, to print off to help with both activities.  Optional task: to start an audit of your child’s skills by completing the ‘Independent Living Checklist’ of self-care-skills that your child can do independently.

Take photos on your smart phone of the results of some of the activities that you have enjoyed and email them to me at:

(But remember: no faces in pictures please!)

Have fun while you are at home & we will see you all soon. J
