Music lessons at Oaktree – Learning how to play an instrument

This term students in Pink class have been busy learning how to play a tin whistle.  The instrument is very similar to a recorder but smaller.  Working from a music book called, Ready, Steady, Recorder, by Sarah Watts, students have learnt how to hold the instrument, how to read simple music scores and play different notes that the instrument can make.  To build confidence, students have practised playing the tin whistle, as a group, to short pieces of musical accompaniment.  We have had so much fun learning together and it will be an experience that all of us will remember!
