Purple class have had a good first half term, settling into daily routines and making new friendships. We are working on our Independence skills by hanging up coats and bags in the morning and putting our home-school books in the blue box as independently as possible. In PSHE we’ve been learning about classroom rules and expectations. Pupils have been practicing how to share and tidy up, use our words to communicate and link bad choices to minutes off of playtime.
Purple Class have enjoyed our sensory story of Maria’s Ball in English this half-term. We took turns throwing the ball, feeling the rain and hearing the crash of Maria breaking the window. Then we had to call the window mender and help hammer in the nails.
In Science, we enjoyed observing Autumn changes and went for a walk around the school playground to find leaves for our tree artwork. We found yellow, brown and orange leaves and some tiny acorns! We are practicing our counting skills using drums, Numicon and when playing games outside. Pupils are also making colour and picture patterns.
Purple Class really like their weekly cooking lessons with PJ and are working on their spreading skills, enjoying tasting different toppings on toast. In Independence they have practiced hovering, taking out the bins, using a washing machine and washing windows. This last week, we had a lovely reward trip to Chicken Shed for milkshakes and hot drinks after all this hard work!
