Red Class

Red Class have had a fantastic first half term which culminated in a fantastic week celebrating the Black History Month. We learnt about great figures in history, such as Martin Luther King and Mary Seacole. More specifically, while learning about Mary Seacole’s contribution as a nurse during the Crimean War we explored various herbs in the sensory garden and we made our own, to heal the soldiers’ wounds, as part of a role play activity on the Crimean War.We got fascinated when we described her courage and character throughout a range of activities, using lots of language practising at the same time our Literacy targets. Likewise, in Music we listened to the African music, played the drums and Red Class did fantastic showing great confidence and public skills when they performed in front of the whole school an African Dance during Assembly.
