Sixth Form Spring Term News
This term we have launched our “WE Scare Hunger’ campaign and already we have had great success. On Wednesday 13th February we held a coffee morning where people came to share a coffee, but instead of paying, they donated something to our ‘food collection’. Our Sixth Form leavers then delivered our parcels to the local food bank and soup kitchen to help make a difference to the homeless and vulnerable. We are aiming to continue with this campaign, so please continue to send in any contributions that you can. Thank you!
As a celebration of the efforts of the Sixth Form we were invited to attend the WE Schools concert at Wembley arena, along with 12,000 other school children. We spent the morning with ‘Harry and Meghan’ who gave an inspiring talk on the difference the children were making to the world with the good work that they were doing. Other guests included Naomi Campbell, Nicole Scherzinger, along with performances from Pixie Lotte, Tom Walker and Liam Payne! We had a great time and look forward to being invited again!
To kick off our RE Curriculum week, Sixth Form visited St Albans Cathedral. We learned about the story of Saint Alban and how the cathedral came to exist. The cathedral itself was spectacular; it even had 300 years plus old graffiti carved into the stone pillars! Some of our sixth formers had the opportunity to wear the Abbotts costume, and fine specimens they were too. We finished off with a McDonald’s lunch and a fun day was had by all!
