Sponsored walk 2
The School Council have been busy this term, organising another sponsored walk to raise money for future projects, we also wanted to promote the importance of doing exercise to keep fit and that it can be fun.
On Friday we marked out an area of the school field so that walking 15 laps would be the same as walking 3K. This year we decided to invite parents along to take part with the students and were delighted to see some of you took up the challenge!!
When we arrived at school in the morning it was pouring with rain and we thought we would have to postpone the event, but the rain stopped and even the sun peeped out behind the clouds, so we decided to go ahead.
The students all arrived at school in their PE kits ready to take part. Ricardo our Physio led the warm up to get our muscles stretched and everyone joined in. During the walk the students were joined by Parents and Oaktree staff, along with some music.
Everyone managed to complete the 3K just as the sky turned dark and the rain came again. All the students received a certificate and a well-earned Ice lolly at the end, whilst the parents had a nice cup of tea.
The sponsored walk raised £566.00
