This term the Sixth Form have already achieved so much! We continue with our support for local charity TODOS, where our ‘Cooking for Independence’ group made food parcels which were given out to the homeless on the cold nights that we recently had to endure. The cakes looked amazing and I’m sure that they were appreciated by all who were lucky enough to have them.
Some of our Sixth Form have been involved in a drumming project where they have been working with other schools to produce a concert which is due to be shown at the Milfield Theatre on March 6th. We look forward to hearing their reviews!
We have had some amazing feedback! Some of our students have recently finished a work experience placement. The staff at the placement were so impressed with the effort that these young adults put in, their attitude, their work ethic and the help that they gave was reported as being ‘the best that they have had’. We are immensely proud of all of our students who have attended work experience placements so far this year. The standard has been set now and we look forward to more reports of this nature!
Finally, we have launched our ‘WE Scare Hunger’ campaign and already we have had great success. On Wednesday 13th February we held a coffee morning where people came to share a coffee, but instead of paying for the coffee, they donated something to our ‘food collection’. We think that you would agree, we have made a good start! Some of our Sixth Form representatives will deliver our parcels to the local food banks and soup kitchens to help make a difference to the homeless this winter. Well done guys!
