In yellow class over the last half term, Yellow class have been very busy! The class have settled into the new routines very quickly and have made new friends. In Maths we have been learning to use Numicon to help us with our number pairs for 10 and 20, building on our addition skills and have explored patterns and symmetry. In English we have explored a range of poetry through the books of Julia Donaldson and written our own Halloween rhyming poems. In PSHE we have celebrated our similarities and differences in the ‘All About Me’ topic and explored the importance of rules and fairness.
In Independence, we have developed our communication and computing skills and have learned how to use our unique user names and passwords to log in to the London Grid For Learning (LGFL) to explore some of the online activities that can help us with our learning. During Black History Week in October, we have learned about the achievements of Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Lewis Hamilton & Serena Williams. In PE, we have developed our understanding of team work and further developed our swimming skills and our confidence in the water.
In Art we have been painting a mural in the playground with Maz. In Science we have been looking at ‘Everyday Materials’ in an around the school with Ricardo and In Computing, developing our typing skills and exploring e-safety with Darcy. In Food Technology we have been developing our independence skills and learning to cook quick and simple meals with Sarah Usher.
