Work Experience

During their time in the Sixth Form there are opportunities to undertake work experience at different work places in the locality. Recently some of our students have had work experience in a local cafe, gardening centre, tennis club and nursery school to name a few.

We aim to provide work experience for all of our students during their time in the sixth form.

During their time in Sixth Form, we offer parents and our students careers guidance and advice and arrange visits to a variety of further education providers to prepare for the transition after Oaktree.

One of our students is currently undertaking work experience at a local secondary school.  This is what he has to say about it:

"I work in the kitchen as I would like to be a chef.  I have learnt stage 2 cleaning and knife skills.  Being a chef involves a lot of different things such as, knife skills, health and safety, budgeting, food hygiene and menu planning,  I work in a team with 4 other chefs, we all get along and have a great laugh together."
