Home Learning Activities
Week beginning 13.07.20
This week’s pack of activities includes 12 learning sessions which should be spread out throughout the week, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 per day. If you have the time and the opportunity to do a bit of reading with your child some of the days, that would be great!
Maths – 2 sessions
English – 2 sessions
Independence – 1 session
Computing – 1 session
Science – 1 session
Art – 1 session
Food Tech – 1 session
PSHE – 1 session
PE – 2 sessions
As your child completes the activities, feel free to use the email address below with any comments as to how he/she has been getting on with the work, as well as pictures of any tasks your child may have achieved (but please do not send pictures of your child, only the work!!!)
email@example.com This way we can have two-way communication and your child may feel more of a sense of purpose knowing that myself or the relevant teachers will look at the work they have done and comment on it over the phone the following Monday.
Maths Session 1 - Mathletics (no paper copies required)
Your child will have a number of Mathletics activities to solve. They are individual to your child only. Encourage your child to do some Mathletics work for about one hour. They shouldn’t need much support for this.
Maths Session 2 - number work (paper copies required)
I am sending you 4 pages that follow on from last week’ work. The focus is on number and is, as per usual, differentiated.
English Session 1 - Reading Eggs – Storylands (paper copies required)
You have 2 pages of written work to go with the Reading Eggs ¦ Storylands lesson that I have assigned for your child. Please do the online lesson first, and only after should your child engage with the paper copies.
English Session 2 - Reading Eggsspress – Comprehension lesson (paper copies required)
You have 2 pages of written work to go with the Reading Eggspress lesson that I have assigned for your child. Please do the online lesson first, and only after should your child engage with the paper copies.
Independence - independent in the holiday (no paper copies required)
For the next and last Zoom session of the year I would like you to make a list to share with your classmates! This list should contain bullet points of all your plans of how you can be helpful around the house during the summer holiday! Start thinking!!!
Computing - communication (paper copies required)
Starting this week you will be asked to chat chat chat!!! Use technology over the course of the summer holiday to stay in touch with your friends from Yellow class, so that we are all caught up with the gossip come September!
PSHE - Inventions by Black women (no paper copies required)
This week we look at inventions from black women that have changed the world. Without these women we would not have GIFS, 3D movies or be able to make calls over the internet... all things that many people have enjoyed during lockdown. Students are invited to research famous black women from all walks of life and write about them.
Science - a plant’s life (paper copies required)
This week you have two activities to complete, all based on your plant growth observation s.
Art - Black Lives Matter (paper copies required)
This week you will create a painting related to Black Lives Matter. On the PDF there is an outline of a fist. Colour in the fist or write words or phrases related to the black lives matter. Ask help from an adult and search for some information on the internet if you need to.
Food Tech - Food Tech
Pick two meals that you have eaten at home this week.
Write out a list of ingredients for each meal – you may need your parent or carer’s help for this
See if you can identify the meal with the most ingredients
PE – exercising (no paper copies required)
Keep moving with the activities Simon has prepared for you this week! Check the PE tab for details!
